Your PC is your business.

Tendvane has no telemetry, no accounts and no tracking. Here's exactly what that means.

The short version: Tendvane runs entirely on your computer. It does not collect, store or transmit any personal data about you, and it has no analytics. The only times it uses the internet are when a feature you start needs to — and even then it sends no information about you.

What Tendvane does not do

  • No telemetry or usage analytics — ever.
  • No account, sign-in, licence check or registration.
  • No advertising, no tracking, no third-party trackers.
  • No reading or uploading of your documents, photos or personal files. (The duplicate-photo finder only reads the folder you pick, and only on your PC.)

When Tendvane uses the internet

Only for the feature you ask for, and only to fetch public data — never to send your data out:

  • Driver check & update — queries the public Microsoft Update Catalog by hardware ID and downloads the driver packages you choose to install.
  • App installer — uses Windows' built-in winget to search and install apps from their official sources.
  • Network speed test — downloads test data from a public CDN to measure your connection.
  • Windows Update — uses the Windows Update service, the same as Windows itself.
  • "Find a fix" links — when you click them, they open a normal web search in your browser.

Hardware IDs sent to the Microsoft Update Catalog identify device models (e.g. a graphics chip), not you.

Settings stored on your PC

Tendvane saves your preferences (language, theme, window size, options) in the Windows Registry under HKCU\Software\Tendvane, and keeps logs/scan results in ProgramData\Tendvane — all local to your machine. Uninstalling removes the app; you can delete those locations too.

This website

tendvane.com is a plain static site with no cookies, no analytics and no tracking scripts. It is hosted on Cloudflare and downloads are served from the site itself; like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request logs (such as IP address) to deliver the pages and files, under its own privacy policy. The only thing we add is an anonymous count of total downloads — no cookies, no personal data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date below will be updated. Because Tendvane collects nothing, changes will be rare.
